Good Thursday evening MacroEdge Readers & Community,
This evening is not a Macro Note, data coverage, or a report. It’s simply an update on the changes and enhancements we’re making as an organization between now and the end of the year, as we prepare for a successful 2027. 2026 has been a unique year for us. We expanded our oil and gas coverage in January alongside our sister companies’ direct asset ownership, and we continue today to expand our global client network. Since July, I’ve made some adjustments to how we run our organization from a team and personnel perspective, to better fit our long-run 3 to 5 year outlook and enhance what we’re doing as an operation. This evening I want to take the time to outline what you should expect from us for the remainder of the year and into 2027, specifically the changes and enhancements we’ll be delivering to you over the coming weeks and years.
One of the most important elements of this entire shift is our emphasis on streamlining our offerings between our two core focus areas: Macro Research and Oil and Gas. Below, in ‘Changes and Enhancements on the Horizon,’ I think it’s quite apparent why these changes are positive, why they make what we do more understandable, and why they’ll enable our team to deliver better products, services, and results to you, our readers and clients. In the 2026 landscape, technology and data-based professional services are becoming increasingly competitive, while our opportunities continue to grow in a much more robust fashion closest to our core: the global macro and financial landscape. We’ve serviced, and continue to service, some of the largest companies on earth with our professional services solutions, and we’ll keep supporting those existing clients. Going forward, however, we will not be originating new professional services clients, barring outlier arrangements made through our streamlined and improved verticals, highlighted below.
Our organization and roadmap will thrive best as we remain lean and mean, with hyper-competent individuals at the helm doing the work necessary to keep us growing and serving you for years to come. I want MacroEdge to be eclectic. I want us to push the boundaries of thought and bump up against consensus narratives, and I want us to have a ‘sexy’ edge that 99% of firms in our industry lack. We thrive when we’re unique, and we won’t if we just try to become yet another sell-side slop shop, or a KPMG peddling pre-packaged professional service solutions. The future is bright for our organization, and I am glad to have you all along for the ride.
Outside of MacroEdge, we are expanding our presence in the oil and gas industry through direct partnerships with our sister companies. Both firms are involved in direct asset ownership in the oil and gas sector, specifically in North Dakota, Wyoming, and Texas. On top of their core ownership, they are expanding into enhanced oil recovery research and A&D services.
Changes and Enhancements on the Horizon
Our website and client portal are undergoing significant changes and enhancements between now and the end of the month. I apologize for any downtime or inconvenience during this period.
You can find our team members at:
@DonMiami3 - Don Johnson, Chief Economist & Founder
@SixFinance - Six, Head of Portfolio Strategy
@MrAwsumb - Ulysses Awsumb, Real Estate & Energy Research

Our 50+ strong contributor network, the ‘HOA’ group as we call it, remains fully operational and intact from our 2023 days. Executives, business owners, and experts are in constant contact throughout the day, talking through the latest news and sharing their thoughts. It’s great to see everyone thriving.
An all-new social media team member joins us on Monday and will run our MacroEdge pages on X, Substack, and LinkedIn. If you haven’t already, you can find our X pages at:

The rest of our platforms are discoverable through a quick Google or AI search.
Going into 2027, we’re streamlining the organization around our two core areas, Macro Research and Oil and Gas, with Social Media as the engine that delivers both to you. From a focus and understanding standpoint, these are the things getting 95% or more of our attention, so the move is natural.
Macro Research
Under our Macro Research team, you will continue to find Ozone, which delivers 3-4 global macro reports weekly. You’ll also get access to our Flagship Portfolio Strategy here, along with commentary and updates from Six.
We will be transitioning Ozone to a macro-based, strategy-first focus, measured by portfolio performance. We’re not only focused on all of the critical data; we’re focused on how the information we have can be profitable, and we’ll talk about the opportunities to bridge that gap.
Not yet a MacroEdge Ozone subscriber? You can get access below:
On 11/1, MacroEdge Ozone will increase to $45/mo from $33.33/mo at present. Current subscribers will be grandfathered at their existing rate.
You can find more information on Ozone at MacroEdge.world/subscribe
General economic advisory will be serviced under our Macro Research umbrella. All current MacroEdge datasets, and development of new datasets, will be maintained by Macro Research and are now delivered and priced to clients on an individual basis. Existing dataset clients will continue on current terms through 2027. You can contact info@macroedge.net for more information about our general economic advisory services and how they can fit your enterprise, family office, or fund.
Oil and Gas
Our Oil and Gas team and umbrella will drive the growth of our organization for years to come. Under Oil and Gas Research ($75/mo), you will continue to get the best of our energy-sector research, which includes 2 reports a week and our Oil and Gas Growth and Income Portfolio Strategy. This product is useful for allocators, individuals, and small operators looking for the high-level insights that help drive intelligent business and portfolio decisions.
Learn more about Oil and Gas Research at MacroEdgeEnergy.substack.com/subscribe or via MacroEdge.net.
For those directly in the oil and gas world, our Oil & Gas Advisory offering starts at $1,200/month, with custom engagements priced to the solution we design for you. The base retainer includes a monthly Oil and Gas Advisory Briefing, our weekly Oil and Gas Research Notes on macro and strategy, a weekly commentary email from our Oil and Gas Research Team exclusive to advisory clients, two hours of 1:1 or group call time each month, risk management and hedging strategy review, and priority email access with responses within two business days. For clients who need more, we offer add-ons priced separately: acquisition screening, deal sourcing, asset reviews and M&A guidance, hedging strategy construction, and land, title, and A&D services powered by LX Oil and Ranch.
Social Media
Under our Social Media umbrella falls our X, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Substack operations, which all feed one another.
MacroEdge Radio will continue to expand, and we may grow our YouTube and media operation to include private, limited-access discussions with our extensive network of macro and financial experts. We will also continue to seek out and expand our extensive partnership network, as well.
… What’s Being Sunset?
MacroEdge Solutions
MacroEdge RESights
We are closing the curtain on MacroEdge Solutions and MacroEdge RESights. Not only have the product distinctions started getting confusing, they’re blurring the lines of what we are as an organization, which is the last thing I want. As highlighted above, we want to push boundaries, we want to be eclectic, and we want to make decisions with a 5-year outlook in mind, which these two components no longer support. Current RESights subscribers will be moved to Ozone, and Solutions clients - you should’ve already heard from me or us directly.
One More Thing: December
In December, we’ll turn the page on this new chapter with a gathering somewhere in the mountains, and you’ll all have a chance to help pick the location via a poll we’ll post by Friday on X. This will likely be a 24-hour event. We’ll fly in to the venue in the morning, have an organized lunch and a few macro and energy-focused discussions, and then share drinks and dinner, with an activity and departure the following day. Space will be limited to about 20, and the event is open to subscribers and MacroEdge clients. Plus-ones must be included in your RSVP. More details will be available by the end of the week, since I know December is a busy time of year for everyone.
Stay tuned for more.
The future of a streamlined, more intelligent, and more deliberately eclectic MacroEdge has arrived, and I look forward to the remainder of 2026, with a brilliant 2027 just beyond the horizon.
Let’s MacroEdge on, intelligently, together.
